The project's description

The harp shaped Jerusalem Chords Bridge, was designed by international architect Dr. Santiago Calatrava, one of the best in bridge planners in the world and responsible for some of the world's most beautiful hanging bridges inspired by the verse " Praise Him with blasts of the horn; praise Him with harp and lyre." (Psalms). The Harp, the instrument associated with King David the founder of the city of Jerusalem, will become one of the architectural symbols of Jerusalem. Four main types of materials were used to build the bridge: steel and concrete for the bearing structure, and stone and glass for cladding and flooring. The foundations that make up the deck and the large structure were cast in welded steel slabs welded together. The pavement in the pedestrian lane in the bridge deck is made of glass. All areas designated for pedestrians, beyond the steel deck, were built of granite stone. Most of the concrete components visible in the coastal seams are Jerusalem stone. The tower's mast is 118 meters high, and from it 66 strings were stretched along the bridge to keep it balanced. Through the string technique, a sense of levitation and lightness of the bridge, which weighs over 4,200 tons, will be created.
